Weight Loss Supplements

There are some good weight loss supplements on the market and there are some pretty bad ones.

Never take anything without fully evaluating the ingredients. I would suggest that you talk to your doctor, but most of them just “shrug”, when it comes to dietary supplements. The best way to protect your health is to be an informed consumer.

When companies make outrageous or unsubstantiated claims, you can bet that you will be dissatisfied with the results. If you don’t know what the ingredients are, look them up on Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. There you will learn if there are any scientific studies backing the company claims or if it’s all smoke and mirrors.

If you want to achieve long-term success, using supplements for weight loss should only be a small part of your plan. You will need to increase your level of physical activity and follow a healthy eating plan, but there are also a few “tricks” that improve your chances.

Fiber

Simply increasing your daily intake of dietary fiber can make an incredible difference in your short and long term success. You can do it by eating more raw vegetables, such as celery, but there are several effective weight loss supplements that are rich in dietary fiber.

Non-soluble fiber helps “clean out” your system. It also binds to fat, removing it from the body. If you are “constipation-prone” or you typically feel bloated, you are probably not getting enough fiber in your diet.

The average American diet is too high in salt, fat and over-processed foods. Hamburgers and French fries contain little dietary fiber. Another advantage is that fibrous plant foods and their packaged counterparts give you a feeling of fullness, without adding calories.

Purified Water

Increasing your intake of purified water improves the function of your liver and kidneys. Tap water (and even some bottled brands) contains too many toxins and contaminants. The liver becomes “busy” getting rid of impurities. It can’t take the time to convert your fat stores to energy. You end up being hungry, tired and still fat, regardless of how hard you try.

So, take some fiber weight loss supplements with a full glass of water that you purify at home. Try doing that 30 minutes before you eat a meal.

Researchers have shown that people, who drink an 8 ounce glass of water, 30 minutes before a meal, consume fewer calories.

At one time, they thought the only mechanism involved was the feeling of fullness from the water, but now, it appears that something else is going on. Your body needs to be well hydrated to digest your food properly; you may be eating more, because of poor digestion.

Detoxification

In addition to adding fiber and increasing your intake of purified water, there are herbs and nutrients that also help to remove toxins. There are so many toxins in our environment today. Processed and packaged foods contain many of them.

So, your digestive system may be literally “clogged”. Weight loss supplements that contain detoxifying herbs and amino acids can be highly beneficial. Good Luck!
