Lose Weight in One Week

November 23rd, 2011, 09:11:15

There are lots of ways to lose weight in one week. The choices that you make depend primarily on how many pounds that you want to take off, as well as your current calorie intake and level of physical activity. Here’s a look at some of the “quick tricks” to get rid of those unwanted pounds quickly.

Fluid Retention

People are different. I, personally, have a tendency to retain fluid. Others do not. But, give this fluid loss diet a try, for just a single day. That’s all it takes to find out how many pounds of unnecessary fluid you are holding on to.

For a single day, eat only fresh fruits and vegetables use only 1 teaspoon of salt for the whole day. Don’t eat any processed foods or beverages. Drink a bottle of purified water every hour, or so. Choose foods that are naturally “diuretic”; watermelon, lettuce, beets, tomatoes, asparagus, carrots and Brussels sprouts. You can eat as much as you like, as long as you stick with fresh fruits and vegetables.

You can’t use this diet for more than one day per week, because it does not provide adequate levels of protein. But, if you are trying to lose weight in one week and you are retaining some fluid, you can drop as much as three pounds overnight.

Increased Fiber Intake

Adding more fresh vegetables and other sources of dietary fiber can help you lose any number of pounds, relatively quickly. If your upper abdomen is bloated and enlarged, you may have lots of unwanted organisms living there and most of us have a build up of toxins in our system.

Most people can lose weight in a week by using colon cleansers and detoxifying fiber supplements. The amount that you will lose varies, but 5 pounds in a week is not unusual.

Increasing Cardio and Reps

You’ve been working out regularly. You don’t think the problem is toxins or parasites. You eat a healthy diet and don’t have a tendency to retain fluid. You want to lose weight in one week, but you want to do it “safely”.

Sometimes, our exercise programs become “routine”. The body gets “bored”, so to speak. You can “shake things up” by doing something differently. It can be something small and simple, like changing the time of your workout or reducing the weight and increasing the reps. The only thing that you do not want to do is force your body to burn muscle.

Reducing Calories

If you are taking in more calories than you are burning, that’s the reason that you can’t take off the pounds. Try cutting your calories, just slightly. For example, if you calculate that you are currently eating 2400 calories per day, cut back to 2000.

You will lose weight in one week, in this fashion. It might be only a pound or two, but you won’t send your body into “starvation mode”. Low calorie diets may work on the short-term, but you’ll gain it all back quickly. The quick tricks mentioned here are safe and won’t be detrimental to your long-term success.
