I am sorry to tell you this but…
It would be great if we could find certain foods and eat enough of them to just melt the fat right off of our bodies without doing anything else. But, the plain and simple truth is that food does not burn fat. Theoretically, there are some foods that require your body to do a little more work to digest them. That means that it may require more calories to convert them to energy than they contain, but this is only theoretical, not measurable.
It is known that certain parts of the plant foods that we eat are not digestible. They move food through the digestive system, absorbing water. Collectively, these food parts are known as…
Consuming dietary fiber contributes to weight loss, because while these foods are filling, the cells of the body do not use them for energy. Dietary fiber also helps the body rid itself of toxins that accumulate along the walls of the gastrointestinal system, preventing proper absorption of nutrients from the foods that we eat. So, dietary fiber is a good thing. But, are foods rich in dietary fibers fat burning foods?
That’s what some people call them and that’s why you’ll see list after list of belly fat burning foods on websites all over the internet. It’s not that these foods aren’t good for you. They’re great. It’s just that if you want to lose body fat, you need a complete plan. There are different “theories” about the best way to lose weight. Below, you’ll see a couple of the best plans that I have come across. But, first, let me say a few more words about dietary fiber.
On average, Americans consume less than 50% of the dietary fiber necessary for good health. Teenagers consume even less, only about 20% of what they need. Researchers, scientists, doctors and other experts believe that this is a contributing factor to the growing obesity “epidemic”. They call it an epidemic because…
In other words, 2 billion people worldwide may have a serious life threatening condition. Those figures were calculated by the World Health Organization in 2005. The numbers could be higher or lower today…and there is always the fact that BMI does not take muscle mass or bone weight into consideration. A more important consideration is your percentage of body fat. A very fit person may weigh the same as a very unfit person, because muscle weighs more than fat.
If you are concerned that your percentage of body fat is higher than it should be, here are some of the foods that you should consider eating on a regular basis, because of the high amounts of “insoluble”, non-digestible fiber that they contain (sometimes referred to as fat burning foods):
These are some of the foods that you will see on internet lists of fat burning foods, but once again, I must tell you food does not burn fat. Your body will only burn fat, if it has to.
Think of your body as a technologically advanced piece of machinery. It knows what it is required to do and it knows what it needs to accomplish those things. It does not really know that your goal is weight loss and it will use your brain against you, sending out hunger signals because “something” is missing.
If you go on a low calorie diet, it believes that you are starving. Instead of burning your fat stores, it burns the glycogen from lean muscle, basically, dissolving your lean muscle mass.
If it’s not getting all of the nutrients that it needs from the foods that you eat, it continues to tell you that you are hungry, even after eating a full meal. You get cravings that you cannot satisfy. You eat more and more, but you never feel satisfied, because your body is not getting what it needs.
If you are not taking a good daily multi-vitamin and an omega 3 supplement, you need to start. These will help to stop the cravings, because your body will start to get what it needs, every day.
The average weight loss plans, including those that tell you to eat belly fat burning foods, are incomplete. Diet alone is not effective. Supplements alone are not effective. If you want to be successful, there are a number of things that you need to do, including these:
Christopher Guerriero and Tom Venuto have the most complete plans that I have ever seen, because they take all of these factors into consideration.
Tom will tell you about all of the lies that the fitness and diet industry have been selling to you over the years. Click here to learn more.
Chris will tell you how to shed unwanted inches and melt away stubborn fat rapidly, without taking drugs, having surgery or giving up your favorite foods. Click here to learn more.
Chris and Tom have slightly different theories, but both of them are sound. They agree that you need to eat and you need to move. You can literally “think” yourself into a better looking, thinner body. You have to learn to ignore the advertising hype that people like Jenny Craig are throwing at you. You can take control of that beautiful machine that is your body and make it work for you. You just have to learn how.
I would suggest that you check out both of them. They both have lots of free information that may be news to you. You were wasting time looking for belly fat burning foods, anyway. You may as well do something constructive.
